Swedish Medical Center is looking for an Administrative Coordinator (1.0 FTE, Day SHIFT) to work in PET CT at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.

Responsible for new referral intake and scheduling all PET patients referred to Seattle Nuclear Medicine/Ultrasound. Responsible for insurance verification. Confirms eligibility and coverage and completes pre-authorization for services. Maintains knowledge of any changes in PET coverage issues with insurers. Acts as a liaison between the patient and/or physician's office and Seattle Nuclear Medicine/Ultrasound. Computes PET statistics in spreadsheet format and updates the data for the Radiologist.

In this position you will:

  • Answer the phone, answer questions, receive new referral intake, and schedule all PET CT scans. Demonstrate ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities in an efficient manner.
  • Maintain knowledge of and provide accurate patient exam preparation and protocol information to both physician’s offices and patients.
  • Assist with distribution of PET/CT information to Physicians offices as needed.
  • Coordinate a variety of in-services as needed (i.e. AccuChek) and coordinate scheduling with other departments.
  • Obtain physician referral, verify insurance coverage and eligibility, and contact the payer for necessary pre-authorization for services.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Two years previous experience in an outpatient medical setting with extensive customer service interaction
  • Experience with insurance authorization and verification

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • 2-4 year degree
  • Previous Experience with coordination of medical services or management preferred
